Koya Japan - Winnipeg

This is really one of my favorite places for a fresh cooked lunch you can get prepared food as well but the Terriyaki dishes are outstanding!

This Koya Japan is located in the Grant Park Mall. I arrived around There is a small buffet with about items. It seems like they do small batches to keep it fresh. The noodles and fried rice were nearly empty when I arrived....I ordered the pineapple chicken which is made to order. It comes on a bed of white rice with cabbage broccoli carrots bean sprouts and the pineapple and chicken. It is topped with a teriyaki sauce. My meal was heaped on the plate. There was a lot of chicken and pineapple. For around I was very satisfied. It is not gourmet food but the quality and portion was very good for the price.

No food court in the mall just this fast food place. Food is tasteless. Cheap uncomfortable seating. Sitting in warmer trays for who know how long.

Although I was not expecting much, because it was a mall type restaurant and a franchise, I thought it might be passable and a way to get a quick bite. I ordered the Terryako Duo. I watched the cook make it in front of me...and saw him seem to take pride in what he was doing.. I thought he was just trying to impress me. cause I was watching). When he finished it, he served it to me with a smile...and I sat down to eat it. Was way tastier than expected. I had to add some more spicy hot sauce because he didn't make it as spicy as I usually like. But that's me. Any way I thought it was delicious and have returned a few times since.
