Legend's Restaurant & Sports - Winnipeg

When you first enter this poorly laid out bar and grill you will notice a awful smell coming from mould,grease,and sour sewer gas smell coming from the furniture ,kitchen and bar. The furniture was stained and dirt,it you don't get a fairly clean chair you stand the risk of getting your clothes dirty.The comfort of those worn out chair is non-existent. They are in need of re-upholstering.The waitress did her best to be nice and pleasant. I felt sorry for her as she was the only person serving in the lounge and behind the bar. She assured us that there was a new menu and a new cook.We ordered two different meal items and we both got sick from them. We were severely ill for the the whole day and into the evening. We would of complained to the manage but the two attempts made were useless as management was always absent .

Staff is incredibly unfriendly and sometimes downright rude! They never crack a smile, when you talk to them they act like you are putting them out when you ask for something.

"I'll have the special, fish and chips, and your soup of the day". That was my order. Pretty simple. When my order arrives, I get a plate with fish and soup. Where are my fries?"You get one side, and you ordered the soup"."But I ordered fish and chips, the special that is written at the entrance, and the soup of the day, wish was also written on the entrance sign"."Well I can bring you an order of fries for two for five dollars..."Not being the argumentative type I agreed to that and let it be. The food was ok, but unremarkable. This is a restaurant and lounge and there is little to separate the two. In fact the billiards table is oddly located on the opposite side of the restaurant from the bar/ lounge. So if you want a reasonably quiet meal you may not get that with people shooting pool a short distance from your restaurant table. The decor is straight out of the 1980's. Not sure if it hasn't been updated or if it was more recently done by someone with a somewhat dated sense of interior design. The washrooms need renovation. All in all, it wasn't a place I can honestly recommend when there are so many dining alternatives nearby.

I had chicken fingers and fries at the bar. The owner was very kind. The food was tasty and the rest of the staff were nice too. They have daily specials and many VLTs. I'm looking forward to trying their mozzarella sticks in the future!

Our first night in town we thought the place was closed and by closed I mean it looked like it had been closed for a long time.
