Perkins Restaurant & Bakery - Winnipeg

Lots of menue choices. Prices vary from very inexpensive to mid range. i decided to have a $6 breakfast meal for lunch, which was great for me. I got a scrambled egg, two,slices of bacon and two pancakes with tea. My billl was 9.38.The waitress was very prompt and friendly.

Was there on April 22nd at about 7pm. Restaurant was basically empty except for maybe 4 seatings. Was served by the manager and a guy she was training. A very arrogant manager. She basically did all the talking. Was embarrassed by her picking on 2 ladies at another table who had just sat down, and seemed to have been having a good day because they were upbeat, asking them "what have you two trouble makers been up to for the day, and the 2 women will be tested"! We were served good food. There was no checking back on how anyone meals were at any tables, never asked if you needed anything, and had to ask for take out trays for left over food. They didn't get the bill correct either. What kind of manager is this training someone? Obviously there is a problem. Would not recommend if you want service, and want to laugh, and enjoy the friends/family at your table.

It's a gross messy restaurant, it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in days. There was a mouse trap in the corner. The food made me sick. They don't know how to make rice. It was mushy. The waitress forgot about us. Don't go!

My wife and I go occasionally to this Perkins location and although there have been some variance in the meals, I was very surprised at the reactions that were listed in the TripAdvisor reviews – many of them noting awful food or poorly maintained facility and indifferent staff. Honestly, I have never had that reaction, the food can sometimes be bland but the service on our last visit was fine. After we told our server that we were in a rush, hoping to have a quick meal before going to a concert downtown, we were quickly ensured that our meals would be queued up immediately in the kitchen. The food was simple fare, potato pancakes and ham and cheese omelette ( a bit greasy) and came quickly. The food was tasty and good portion-size.The washroom was a bit dicey, but everything else seemed fine.

At the wife's request, we went to this Perkins this morning. There was no wait time to be seated and the waitress was very polite and courteous. The food was nicely priced and also satisfying. They have healthy meals as well :)
