However, their exclusive contract ensures they have total exclusivity. I have attended galas at THE WAG where the food was consistently terrible - served cold, with poorly trained staff, and numerous other issues. It seems like nobody really cares about the customer experience. I also went to the MALBEC DAY celebration multiple years in a row and had the same disappointing experience. I highly do not recommend this restaurant.
My close friend's son had his wedding and reception at this venue. It was a wonderful location for an outdoor wedding, especially with the beautiful weather. The reception was a stand-up tapas event, which I preferred over a sit-down dinner because it allowed for more mingling and kept me excited for what was coming next. It also offered a wider variety of food choices. The best part was that after the reception, there was a dance indoors, leaving the outdoor area free for those wanting to have conversations.
Our trip to this restaurant was part of the Dine and Tour' pkg that the Wpg Art Gallery made available to coincide with the Salvadore Dali artwork display. My advice is to avoid the restaurant, the meal was mediocre at best. The arugula salad had...more stems than leaves, it was a set menu, lamb, (not always popular with everyone), over done and tough. Had they told us that the main dish was lamb we would not have gone. The whole meal felt like the a bit of a ripoff. The staff!, our waitress was, in all intensive purposes, dumb', either she was new to the industry or just dumb. All she had to do was take drink orders (as it was a set menu), and she was very inefficient at that. Anyways, I will never go back and I will be sure to let friends know not to either.
I'm not sure if the restaurant has changed names since the previous review was written, but today I visited the Storm Bistro same place. First problem: I checked the menu online and it didn't resemble the menu at the restaurant at all. There were...no soups listed, although there was a soup of the day (tomato bisque) which was tasty with a nice consistency, but quite salty. Since I wasn't able to have what I originally wanted, I settled on their version of a chicken club sandwich. It was described as chicken breast, pancetta, avocado, garlic aeoli, havarti, lettuce and tomato. What arrived was chicken fingers on a small white baguette, with some very green tomatoes and a small piece of lettuce somewhat on the wilty side. Once I snagged the server, I pointed out that this was not what I ordered. She said it was indeed the chicken club. I pointed out that it was missing most of the ingredients, and it was a breaded chicken finger. Apparently that's what they use. IMHO, they should mention that it is breaded meat I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known. She took the sandwich away, and I got it back when my friend was almost halfway through her meal. The pancetta and avocado had been slapped on, but I realized half way through that the havarti hadn't made it on to the sandwich, and there was just one spot with the garlic aoeli. The flavours were good, but again, it was quite salty and the order wasn't right in the first place. Service was polite and friendly but very slow. This could be because there was a large party going on elsewhere in the bistro, but they should have been able to adapt. The coffee was excellent. Rather than lunch and going to a special exhibit, I think I would just have coffee and dessert after viewing the galleries. I'm still disappointed that it wasn't the same menu as the one listed online! Lovely setting, very convenient, but don't expect wonders.
Lovely setting, very convenient if you are visiting the masters. The menu looked hopeful...lamb burger. It was awful and over processed. Companion's salad was limp and off tasting. Service was pleasant.
