Wasabi on Broadway - Winnipeg

This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant in the city. Unfortunately I believe they've recently changed ownership and the quality of their food and service has declined, but their price has remained high. The last two times we went we had poor service and lower quality sushi than what we've been able to get for a fraction of the price at other places. Last time we went we were seated in what was a closet like space and it smelled vaguely of cat litter. The roles that had deep fried elements had a cheap oil flavor. We've ordered these particular rolls many times in the past and expected high quality and unfortunately that isn't what we received. We also waited for over an hour to receive our food and had to flag down a server to get water.

High end with the high prices to match. Friendly service and tasty food. Good decor. But a bit on the expensive side.

Incredible sushi and such attentive, kind staff. The food was well thought out. Good flavour profiles. I wish I had taken a photo! Can't wait to go back. Thank you so much!Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian menu and choices. I'm a lacto-ovo and I had lots of choice.

Great spot for date night. Little pricier than my normal range but good for special occasions. Staff were extremely knowledgeable on the menu and super friendly.
