Dewey's Bakery - Winston-Salem

On July 9th, 2022, I purchased a package of Moravian sugar cookies for my wife. Each package was priced at $28. I bought one at the Reynolda store and noticed that the expiration date was August 2nd, 2022. I checked other containers of sugar cookies and they all had similar expiration dates. I went to the Thruway store and found the same issue. It's disappointing that a well-established company like Dewey's would deceive customers in this way. There were still about 16 days until the expiration date, yet the price remained high at $28. It would have been more fair to offer them at a discounted price, but it seems Dewey's would rather take our money. This feels like a scam against American consumers. This behavior is indicative of larger issues in our economy. Could this be a part of American history? If they were to reduce the price by half, I doubt they would lose any profit. Beware of such practices.

I have been a loyal customer of Dewey's for 25 years, but I was disappointed with my experience today. I purchased two cream horns which had much less filling than before and were twice the price. The pink lemonade roll cake I bought was also stale. I have not been impressed with the quality of their baked goods recently. It seems that Dewey's is now focusing more on gifts rather than their bakery items. This may have been my last visit to Dewey's.

Today i went into dewey’s to order some ice cream with my family and i had to leave without getting any ice cream because the manager Candy was yelling and making a huge scene. it was absolutely unacceptable and frankly disrespectful. i will not be coming back because it is not a family friendly place.

Dewey always has great cake. we have made the mistake of getting cookies sandwiches while we waited for one of the great ladies there to finish the birthday cake we bought. they were delicious and gigantic: two huge chocolate chip cookies that support at least one centimeter frost between them. so, much. zucker! dewey is excellent. service is great, the cakes are great. they are not cheap or cheap.

I used to love Tauey's Bakery, but my recent visit left me disappointed. The manager, who I believe goes by the name "Sweetness," spoke disrespectfully to her employees. The front staff, especially the girl who was training, was friendly and attentive, but Sweetness was rude and defensive. This negative interaction ruined my experience at the bakery.
