However, the phrase form over function may fit all too well, and the room quality falls quite short of the rest of the facility. The shower doors have a poor design (as other reviews also note) and water leaks onto the floor of the bathroom when using the shower. The entry door also has major issues with sealing, with a gap large enough I could slide both my hand and a sandal under the gap at the bottom. This meant we could hear everything that happened in the hallway, including people's conversations, and led to neither of us being able to stay asleep. It's also not the most private feeling of environs when you also know that anyone in the hallway can hear anything you're doing in the room. I suspect this also contributed to the cooling issues in the room, because the room never got as cool as the thermostat said. I'd be surprised if it ever actually got under 74f. I've had quieter rooms on cheap cruise ships during spring break. The front desk offered no compensation for any of the issues mentioned when brought up at check out, and brushed it off with they would submit a ticket to their engineering department. It's a shame because if the rooms had even an acceptable level of privacy the place would be quite nice.We wouldn't come back honestly, because the hotel can't even provide the most basic function of a hotel, which is providing a comfortable place to sleep. If you simply want a venue for an event it would probably be excellent for that.
I booked a room as a gift for my parents 40th wedding anniversary through the Magical Nights special. This was supposed to include a bottle of champagne upon welcome and free valet parking. Upon arriving to the room, there was no champagne. We visited the front desk to raise the issue and were told that we did not have this included with our reservation. I explained that I booked the room on August 7th and immediately called the front desk to confirm this was booked correctly and wanted the hotel to be aware this was an anniversary celebration. I also mentioned that the employee I spoke with over the phone confirmed this was noted on the reservation and we were all set. Unfortunately, the front desk did not honor this or resolve the issue. They were only concerned with who was working that day. They gave us the option for pay an additional $60 for champagne. We declined and they brought a small box of 3 chocolates to the room. My parents were also charged $25 for valet on the final receipt. Overall, the hotel is beautiful but I left feeling disappointed in the service we received.
Excellent service and well renovated rooms. We loved the contemporary styling. Valet and guest services staff were always courteous, attentive, and extremely helpful. I would definitely stay again, it was well worth the price.Rooms: New renovated rooms looked beautifulNearby activities: 1-2 blocks away from many good optionsNoteworthy details: Beautiful garden and lobby
The website is unclear on parking but the staff clarified it well on arrival. Hotel is very nice, rooms large and well appointed, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The lounge was very nice, and the location is convenient to Park Avenue and its many restaurants and shopping. Overall, a great place to stay in Winter Park.
I was really impressed with this hotel and the quality of service provided. It's beautiful, very clean, the rooms are spacious and the service provided by everyone I dealt with was great. The location was perfect for me, as I could walk to Park Ave (great shops and dining options). I'm considering a move for my business and that it why I came to check out Winter Park.
