We were on a Sunday night to the breakfast on a very cold snowy morning. the view of our table was spectacular. the server was very good and came to get us more coffee and check on our eating. my man said the eggs benedikt was excellent! my blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup were delicious. we really enjoyed our meal.
Thanksgiving dinner at Sun Mountain. Always a treat! Food was delicious, our server, Michael was awesome!
We were fortunate to dine twice at the Dining Room, once for dinner and the second time for their Thanksgiving buffet wonderful experiences both. Our servers Franky and Ashley were warm, personable, enjoyable, attentive and professional. Enjoyed them both. For our dinner we tried the mushroom strudel appetizer what an amazing treat of mushrooms in a nice sauce wrapped in a flaky phyllo like pastry. Highly recommend. The chicken curry soup (I believe a house specialty) was superb. Generous chunks of hand cut chicken in a broth with a nice level of curry spice; vegetables also mixed in. The sun mountain salad was fresh, crisp, nicely presented and not too large. The steelhead was excellently prepared and presented. The caesar salad was also fresh and crisp as well as (and this is important to me) NOT smothered in dressing. The raspberry cheesecake was good but definitely light on the raspberries. On to the Thanksgiving buffet what a glorious feast. So many delights to partake. The fresh made dinner rolls were light and flavorful. The cranberry sauce had some magical secret ingredients that made it delightful. The bread stuffing was amazingly moist and tasty with a wonderful mix of ingredients Somehow, the chef managed to pull off nearly perfect preparation of brussels sprouts quite a feat at a buffet. The mashed potatoes were rich and creamy. The salmon was not up to par with the rest of the spread. The Cajun mustard sauce for the ham was a great added touch You could also grab chunks of either white or dark turkey meat. The pumpkin cheesecake pie dessert shined above the two chocolate alternative. For both meals, the wine list list in the Dining Room is very extensive with huge number of Washington wines to choose from (along with wines from around the world). Whether you are staying at the lodge or not you should check out the dining room.
Michael was great with the service, the clams and clam chowder were excellent. Yes, it was a lot of clams. The duck breast was succulent and the sauce was really tasty. The style crisp was warm and all the flavors worked well. The decadent chocolate cake was very decadent and too much for one person. The Waygu Ragu was good but could have used more garlic.
