The Travellers Rest - WIRRAL

The bar staff at this restaurant are attentive and good, making it a decent spot for drinks. However, the quiz host made the reviewer uncomfortable with inappropriate comments about women and disturbing behavior. The pub itself is old-fashioned and not accommodating to the needs of today's more diverse clientele. The reviewer also noted concerns about the safety hazards in the establishment. My wife and I regularly visit the Travellers Rest and we are always impressed by the high quality of beer and selection of lagers. The food is fantastic and well-priced, offering a variety of pub favorites as well as delicious boxed pizzas. I have written many reviews praising pizzas from different places, but I have to say that the ones at Travellers Rest are among the best I have ever had. The pizzas are made with fresh ingredients and a homemade base. If you love pizza, you will love dining at the Travellers Rest.

After taking a walk in the woods, we stumbled upon The Travellers Rest. The staff at the bar were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The food was a great value for the money, especially the lasagna and beef pie which were both generously portioned and delicious. The pub is very welcoming to dogs, offering water bowls and treats. The beer was well-maintained. Overall, this is a fantastic pub with excellent food.

Partially refurbished during the Covid lockdown, the Travellers is vastly improved. First and foremost as a pub, the choice and quality of ales is impressive, (likewise all beers, lagers and wine) the food is very good, quality pub grub. Our visits have increased 4X since lockdown, and will continue.

Great in here. We live locally and wander up for a pint or two and some food quite often. Usually get the nachos and there is plenty to keep two people happy. Loads of salsa etc which is usually my gripe with other places. Great atmosphere. Dog friendly too. Tried a pizza the other day and it was lovely, my only tip to improve would be to swap cheddar for mozzarella.
