I went here with my husband on Saturday night. They found us a table last minute which we really appreciated. I loved the food. We had bravas, saute vegetables, chorizo and a pork thing (can't remember the name Not the albondigas). Service was absolutely fine. Not super attentive but it was so busy and I really didn't want a big fuss anyway. Don't go with the expectation that you will get that sort of attention I would say. Wine by the glass was fine. Not amazing but completely drinkable. Only knocked a star off as it was very, very noisy. But it was a busy Saturday night. It lacked a bit of atmosphere. I'd rather have heard some music instead of the large table behind us, but we did get used to it and had a great evening anyway.
What has happened to Sanpas? This restaurant used to be our favorite before the lockdown. We have visited twice since then, first shortly after reopening. We were disappointed but attributed it to the long closure. However, we decided to give it another chance for our anniversary two weeks ago, hoping for improvement. Sadly, we were let down once again. The lovely staff that used to create a welcoming atmosphere are nowhere to be found. The current staff seem to want customers to eat quickly and leave, providing subpar service. The food, which used to be delicious, was also disappointing. The Potato Brava and Sautéed Vegetables lacked flavor, and the other dishes were just average. The Churros for dessert were soggy, not crispy, and the chocolate sauce was thin and bland. We returned them. It is a pity to see such a beautiful restaurant lose its charm. What happened to the dedicated staff and chefs? It was a Saturday evening, and the restaurant was not full - I wonder why. We were in and out within an hour, not the relaxing celebration we had hoped for. Sadly, we do not plan to return.
We discovered a pleasant atmosphere in this restaurant. They allowed us to move away from where they were working. The service was good and the food was delicious. The ambiance started off quiet, but as more people arrived, it became noisier. It is a small establishment. I wish they had played Spanish music earlier to enhance the atmosphere. Nevertheless, the food was fantastic.
Brilliant atmosphere. Every table was taken and it’s easy to see why. Menu provides an excellent choice of main meals or tapas. Broad drinks options as well. Service was first class. Food arrived hot and was plentiful. A really great venue.
