Taverne Oniro - Wolfsburg

We had dinner with some friends and were looking forward to nice evening. In the beginning we were ignored for at least five minutes before somebody welcomed us and showed us our table. Than we had to wait for another 20 minutes before we got...the menus. Waiting for another hour before getting our order is too long. Fair enough: the restaurant was fully booked but nevertheless this is something they should improve. The food was good but not extraordinary. The idea of ordering a lot of several small dishes (like tapas) is very good but difficult to have an idea how much you should order. Surely you can order more in a second turn. But I guess in this case you would need a lot of time. However we were nicely supported by our waiter during the ordering process. And the service was very friendly when they were with us. Last but not least: 65€ per person is an quite elevated price level for Greek Tapas from my point of view. Sad to say: Not sure if I will go there again.

I choose this Restaurant pretty often and so its time for a recommendation. Your order small Tapas and there is a big selection and they are all good. Value for money very good. Nice wine selection, friendly staff. Also very nice setting. Enjoy !

‘Oniro’ tavern is far more than a place to eat. It offers a cozy environment, with an elegant decoration and style, and a friendly staff that makes you feel like home. I would say that the owner, Vasilis, unlike other owners in greek restaurants, has...managed to get rid of the stereotypes of Greek cuisine (gyros, retsina etc), and create a menu that has as a base the pure and tasty Greek products combined each other and cooked with a clever and modern way. Not only his recipes are greek, but the way they are served is greek as well. ‘Mezes’, the food of the friends, along with the good wine, offers you the opportunity to share tastes, smells and feelings on the table. I have visited this place a lot of times so I can manage to taste all different plates. I could definitely say that the wine cellar has high standards and can satisfy even the most demanding palates. Well done! I absolutely suggest this place.
