The restaurant offers delicious food with a variety of menu options and specials. The portions are generous and I have never been disappointed with a meal. It can get a bit noisy near the kids' area, but there is usually ample seating available. Overall, it's a great choice for a casual night out.
Great tavern with nice mainstream pub menu and good specials board. Something for everyone. Meals are huge and some big enough to take home for next day lunch. Chicken schnitty is great and the salmon specials are always good. Atmosphere is a bit loud but it is a pub so not off putting. Bar staff are great and good selection of wines. Overall nice easy place for casual dining.
Took my two kids for lunch. At a glance, the wollongbar tavern had an aura that invited us in. The service was so pleasant I felt like I was being romanced. The menu was remarkable with something to suit both my children's delicate and selective tastebuds. While we waited, I was delighted to hear my son laugh at the sports fails from one of the many TVs nearby the table and we didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive. We smashed the food, it was too good. I love that lingering feeling of taste even after the meal is finished. This might be our new favourite place to eat.
This was a unique experience for me as someone who has been dining out regularly for the past 45 years. During a recent meal with my partner, the chef actually came to our table to scold us for asking about the delay in receiving our food. He insisted that it takes a long time to cook a Rib Eye Fillet to medium well-done, implying that we should have known better. However, out of the four meals we ordered, only one had arrived, leaving our hungry grandkids waiting. To make matters worse, they forgot the garlic bread completely, without providing any explanation for the delay. The chef did not hesitate to lecture us on the importance of patience in cooking, but failed to offer any apology or explanation for the oversight with the garlic bread. In the end, the Rib Eye Fillet was overcooked and tough, making for a disappointing dining experience. This unprofessional behavior from the chef ruined what was supposed to be a pleasant family night out.
