We followed them with faggots, mash and peas and chicken pie, mash and peas for hubby. Both were excellent piping hot and plentiful. The staff were really welcoming and the open fire was great. Can't wait to return....
Wonderful experience yet again. Amazing beer, great service, wonderful food. We sampled Tagging TS, stew soup, pork roll, and those home cooked chips are the best ever!! Thank you.
Best grey peas and bacon. Proper draught beer, not the normal fizzy Amber golden offerings. Opens 9 to 5, only Saturday evenings. Good staff and parking.
A very nice pub tucked away almost under the railway arches. A combination of traditional pub, but with the range of real ales of somewhere more adventurous, and a diner. On the day I was there the kitchen was open until 7 pm this nearly caught me out as I thought it was _from_ 7pm, but no. I had a half of mild which was nice and a pint of hoppy ale which was also, and that to wash down my supper of faggots, chips and peas. That was as Black Country as ... well, really as Black Country as having a supper of faggots, chips and peas in a pub by the railway arches in Wolverhampton. Yow do ay get more bostin than that.
I am not one for reviews normally and I have never left one before. I have however made this traditional Black Country pub my first because it thoroughly deserves one. Fantastic local beers, great food and very friendly staff who were only too willing to help. One barmaid in particular went the extra mile during our visit. When I went back to the bar for another pint of brown ale (Pirates Pet), Megan visually vetted my drink and deemed it gone after asking me what I thought and asked my to chose a different beer. She also made sure that there were pork, stuffing and gravy baps available upon us asking. Brilliant pub I only wish I lived closer
