Beautiful national trust website. parking is located near the main house. the gardens were beautiful and they can also walk through a small piece of forest. the house was really nice. my only complaint is that we were never offered a card and there were no cards near the main entrance. but the website is small enough so it wasn't a big problem. I just want to make sure I don't miss anything!
Beautiful place to visit for a few hours. it is not far, yet remote, we could still hear the sounds of the city from the garden, but it is a green well maintained place to escape, it has a bookstore and a garden café, the usual national trust souvenir shop. the insides of the house are interesting, old and newer pictures of the family were my favorite, the personal is always ready to help with information and instructions.
Excellent place to visit. much to see. it is a very large house with many works of art. guides very helpful. the teeroom pretty good, limited choice, but typical of national trust. garden also beautiful. recommended
Had a lovely time here at Wightwick. We went on a wet weekend, which was a good time to go as there was no wait to get in to the house. There was ample parking and everything was clearly marked. The house was amazing to look in to. We managed to go around the whole of the downstairs, unfortunately the second floor is currently out of bounds for restoration; still there is plenty to see. A lovely looking house with an organic look and layout. The house has a homely feel and the staff had lots of information about the property and its history. The interior is in the arts and crafts period. With wallpaper by William Morris and works of art by Pre-Raphaelite artists. There is also a gallery away from the main house with many impressive art works. The gift shop is well stocked and has lots of different items of interest including a William Morris section of the shop. The cafe was nice. I had a jacket potato with baked beans and unlike some NT properties I have visited, this one was generous on its toppings.
