I ordered two Big Yianni burgers with fries and onion rings, along with two milkshakes, and was shocked to see the total come to $70. The price seemed very high, and I regret not asking for a detailed receipt. The cashier appeared to be overwhelmed with various tasks, which resulted in a long wait time for service, especially for take-out orders. The fries were overcooked, and the burgers were mediocre at best. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and will not be recommending this restaurant or any of its branches.
It was also, VERY EXPENSIVE! $61.43cdn for two burgers, 1 fries and two milk shakes. Starting with ambience. Tired, and distressed. The staff appeared disinterested. For that kind of money there should have been white table cloths and candles at the tables. Real cutlery would be nice too. Maybe even a Maitre 'd. The burger (two patties) could be ordered cooked to your favourite shade of pink. A plus. And it was juicy when ordered medium-well. But the burger was overwhelmed with secret sauce dripping everywhere, and pickle smothering any flavour the beef might have contributed. Moreover, the burgers (there were multiple choices) came with predetermined toppings. And requests to add your favourite topping, such as a slice of tomato, or onion were prohibited, The boss says absolutely no topping requests , said the order taker. Finally, a cheap standard grocery store bun covered the whole thing. Forget the fries, a pale imitation of McDonalds skinny fries. Tasteless. You can also forget the Awesome Milk Shakes. Standard fast food machine made fare here. For Awesome they should be prepared with milk, flavouring, and fresh hand scooped ice cream and spun until they were thick, rich and creamy smooth. Not here, I 'm afraid. We were here for a special occasion. The whole thing was an embarrassment.
Before and during the pandemic we were picking up from Holy Chuck (Woodbridge location). The food has always been good, and I’ve been willing to go out of my way to pick it up. (I prefer to pick up rather than use a delivery service, like Uber Eats). This evening we struggled to place our order as no one was answering the phone (around 7:15pm). After many attempts someone finally picked up and we were able to place the order for pickup in 30 mins. When I arrived at the restaurant the person behind the counter was busy putting together orders, and motioned for me to wait 2 mins. (I was the only person waiting). After a few minutes she was still packing up orders, and a delivery person came in. She immediately assisted him. Then another delivery person came in, and she assisted him as well. When I spoke up to find out if my order was ready she informed me that it is right here. Obviously it was waiting for me to arrive, and she was just too busy with other things to serve me when I first came in. After spending $150 for 5 burgers and fries, and receiving poor service, I will not be returning. Given that the food is good, it’s too bad that they don’t have better service (or enough staff) to improve the experience. Serving the customer standing in front of them was not their priority.
Holy Chuck has been around for a while and still delivers some of the best tasting burgers around. if you are looking to have a really good burger this is the place to come to. I've been here on many occasions and this most recent time was as good as every. Still one of the few places aside from locations in USA that will ask you how you wold like to have your burger cooked..... amazing.. no frozen pucks here .. all delicious fresh meat. Staff is good and friendly and burgers are ready quickly. The fries are also very very good.. really nothing negative to say about this place.. Good value and one of the best burgers you will ever have.
