We visited The Imperial Tavern with our two dogs while travelling through Worcester on our narrowboat. We really do like the Black Country Ales pubs including this one and it was definitely worth the walk across town from the river to get there. Our dogs were made to feel welcome on the carpeted floor, lovely man behind the bar, friendly locals and a great choice of well kept beers. We will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.
An absolutely lovely landlady who can’t do enough to help. Thank you so much we throughly enjoyed ourselves and the excellent ales.
I stopped by to have a quick drink with a friend before the football game, and I was shocked by how rude the female bartender was. She only poured half of my drink and then told me she needed to change the keg, so I would have to wait for the barman to return. I offered to just have a different lager instead of waiting for the first one to be poured properly, but she became very annoyed with me. When she finally handed me my drink, her response was dismissive and she said, "Whatever. I will not be returning."
Early Friday evening on the 29th October we met a group of friends here for pre-dinner drink. There was a real relaxed friendly atmosphere here, it had the sense of a good old fashioned boozer. They put a lot of effort into the Halloween decorations, the sensor operated mannequins were a definite talking point. We ordered our two drinks at the bar, one of them was a pint of Piffle Snonker, the strangest ale name we have ever heard of, it was a good pint. Our two drinks came to £7.90, reasonably priced for a City centre pub. Everything about here was good, the bar and seating areas were clean and well maintained. The bar staff were polite and friendly. We did return later that evening for a few after dinner drinks.
