There was no usual meals on offer for the adults, carvery was the only option which wasn’t very hot as the place was freezing inside. One child chose the tomato and basil pasta with meatballs which wasn’t very nice at all. The other child chose the chicken burger which was 3 chicken nuggets in a bun and was served with a bowl of baked beans and roast potatoes no chips on the menu at all. Very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.
We were booked in to this toby carvery on a Sunday evening we were both looking forward to this as we had been at a trade show at the nec Birmingham we were both hungry and tired from all the walking we arrived to the car park which had poor lighting and not much parking space we managed to park and maded our way to the entrance to be greeted by a massive que of people they were at the door and carried on it was ridiculous!! so we left without seeing a single member of staff as we were not prepared to stand in a que for lord knows how long so we ended up going back to our hotel and had a meal there instead if toby carvery can't cope on a weekend then don't accept booking as this is unfair to people turning up to that have booked
Excellent service from Kaitlyn and a lovely atmosphere. Everything explained to us as we haven’t been for a while! Will be back for a carvery very soon.
Great service today from Kaitlyn. Very quick and efficient, and super friendly with it. Food was great, perfect roasties, meat and Yorkshire puddings.
As regular visitors to Toby Carveries we are no strangers to their system or expectations, the meet and greet was warm and friendly, from there it went down hill rapidly. The table service was non existent, we had to go and find a server to get drinks, the carver was MIA and the meat dried out ends of pork and gammon, when challenged, there was no interest in finding a fresh joint. The beef was a whole fresh joint and the turkey a good size. The veg had definitely seen better days and if the restaurant was about to close I could have understood but this was early afternoon. No one came to check on us, eventually we asked for a bill and our table had to be cleared so they knew what we had eaten. Not what we are used to at all.
