Contribuisci feedbackI have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years. Lately, the food has been improving consistently with the new chefs, and the service provided by the waiting staff is exceptional. The aroma of the charcoal adds to the overall experience. I tried the chicken gyros today and it was absolutely delicious, even better than the ones I had in Greece recently. I also noticed someone had ordered the pork belly and it looked amazing- I will definitely try that next time. I sincerely hope that this restaurant continues to thrive, as it would be a loss if it were to close down.
I was excited to have a Greek meal, but unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my experience. The restaurant had just reopened after being closed for two days and they were already out of lamb souvlaki. I settled for chicken instead, which was decent but nothing special. The side salad was disappointing as well - it was not a traditional Greek salad, but rather a mixture of old tomatoes, cabbage, cucumber, and lettuce. My partner ordered the salad as a starter but ended up leaving most of it. When we pointed out the discrepancy, the owner, who was Cypriot, insisted that this was their usual salad. The chips were oily and soggy, and the fat beans did not taste like traditional Greek cuisine. The calamari and pork belly ribs were decent, with generous portions, but overall, it seemed like the focus of this restaurant was on quantity rather than quality. The staff were friendly, but it's a shame that the chefs couldn't do better.
I have visited this restaurant several times over the past few years and have never been disappointed. Yesterday, four of us went as I had recommended it to some friends who were visiting. The restaurant is spacious with an open layout and the food is prepared in an open kitchen within the dining area. There is also seating available outside. The portions are always large and beautifully presented, with a great selection of traditional Greek dishes. If you want a mezze platter, it is best to order in advance as it may not be available on demand. The prices are reasonable, though slightly on the higher side, but the generous portion sizes more than make up for it. The drinks are priced as expected. The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly and attentive. I will definitely be ordering a mezze platter next time, and no driving afterwards!
I really hate writing bad reviews but this was so disappointing. We booked for my sons 15th birthday who loves Greek food. The first thing my husband noticed (who was a chef for may years) when we arrived was the vibrating sound of the filtration system, which is not a good sign as it means they are greased up. We were shown to our table and the menus were not very clean. Normally a warning sign to go elsewhere but as it was my sons birthday we did not want to disappoint and stayed. The starters were okay, I shared sardines with my son and my husband had calamari. The mains though were below par, my husbands lamb kleftiko came in a bowl full of oil and unpleasant to eat, although the lamb was cooked well. My wrap was okay but the chips on the side had no presentation it looked like they had emptied the bottom of the chip basket onto my plate. I like a few crispy bits but not an entire plate of oil laden ones! The boys (teenagers) enjoyed their food but the portion sizes were ridiculous meaning they could only eat about a quarter of what was on their plate. I know some people love huge portions but personally we would rather half the portions, twice the quality and priced accordingly instead of the food waste. Equally it tasted like the oil everything was cooked it was not that clean. Not cheap as well for a fairly unpleasant meal at £125 for 4 of us. In a cost of living crisis there is a lot of competition out there and going out to eat is a luxury which makes it so depressing when you do and go away feeling let down. Attention to detail and just upping standards would go a long way here. We will not be returning sadly.
We popped in for the lunch menu, great relaxed place for lunch I had a bottle of Keo and the Meze and it was delicious the rest of the table had Gyros also very much enjoyed.
