Beautiful small Italian place, not much parking Although. First they only have street parking. We waited a bit for a table. The service was very good, very professional. The food was also very good. Everything seemed fresh and of good quality. We had good experiences overall. We would recommend to eat here after this experience and hope to see the consistency in relation to all above during our next visit. Would hate to do a negative update on this beautiful place.
Great food and interior is simply absolutely charming!! Love the toy train that surrounds the ceiling!
Best Italian Downriver WOW it;s so delicious. Only the best Super Super Super Super sauce I've ever eaten on the Chicken Marsala, a wine infused mushroom loaded dish covers a juicy, thinly beaten chicken breast. I can really say that the sauce has everything you would dream on a plate. Never in my years have I cost something better in an Italian court. The woman had awarded the special Steak medals with another creamy wine sauce with peppercorns YUM. The fresh baked hot bread in a basket next to a plate of oil and spice with keep you together with a crisp dark green salad, why wait for your meal. Everything is fresh to order, so patience is worth waiting. The quick friendly service with a smile and a super clean exciting unique decor along with a train crossed head makes this a must try as the food, service and atmosphere are some of the best you can find around the Detroit area and beyond.
What a nice restaurant, a perfect place for a date night dinner! Gregorio’s is located across the street from the Wyandotte Henry Ford Hospital in what seems to have been a two-story residential building. You enter the restaurant from the front door which is along Biddle street. There is a breezeway double-door setup that you have to walk through to enter, and then there is a small bar with a couple of stools. After a brief wait, the hostess escorted us to our seats. We were fortunate to get a table in the front window of the dining room, so we had a pleasant view of Biddle and the entire restaurant. The tables are covered in dark burgundy table cloths under a glass covering. Interestingly the menu is under glass, one facing each seat around the table. We started with a glass of House Chianti for me and a Lemoncello Martini for my wife, both were excellent! Because we were ordering entrees, they brought out a bread basket and herbed oil for dipping. The bread was a delicious Italian loaf, hand-cut and warm, and the oil was fresh and tasty. Sometimes you get an older EVOO that tastes “old” from being oxidized. We couldn’t decide on appetizers. We both thought the fried Ravioli and Fried Broccoli sounded good, so we ordered one of each! The ravioli were filled with cheese, seemed to be ricotta, and came with a dish of warm marinara for dipping. They were “OK” but seemed like they were missing some flavor. With the sauce, it reminded me of having a bite of lasagne with lots of ricotta cheese. The Broccoli were the most disappointing dish. They are pre-formed breaded broccoli “McNugget” florette shapes filled with a chopped broccoli and cheese sauce. They came with a dish of a “zip sauce.” The sauce didn’t seem to go with it. Our entrees were excellent! I had the Chicken Marsala, which is the dish that I use to measure Italian restaurants. If they can’t get this simple dish right, I have little hope that any of the other meals will be worth sampling. The chicken was cooked perfectly, meaning it was pounded thin, lightly floured, and fried in butter with a slight crust. I asked for extra Marsala “sauce” to ensure there was enough to dip every bite. It came with steamed and seasoned veggies; cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli. I also got a small side of pasta in a marinara sauce, which was delicious. I especially liked the sauce! My wife had the Butternut Squash Ravioli, and let me tell you if you are ever in the area you have to stop in and get an order for yourself. Even if you are a couple of hours away, you are close enough to make it worthwhile. It is that good. Seriously, no exaggeration! Overall, I will come back again. The service was excellent, as were the entrees. Oh, and the wine and cocktails!
