Great pizza! But closed on Labor Day. Call before you go if it's a major holiday. The hours are not adjusted on Google Maps.
Worst sauce ever sour tomato paste gave everyone working indigestion . Way overrated greasy will never get pizza from there again tastes like boxed walmart pizza with thin crust . Blah where’s the antacids?
We heard several great reviews about this place during our visit to Princeton. But did it live up to expectations? My son had researched some places to eat, and he found this one. Some people online really talked it up. He also knew that we were supposed to park in back, which is where our GPS took us, so we never saw the front of the restaurant. Finding a place to park was easy, but that didn’t mean the place wasn’t busy. Actually, we had 4 5 families in front of us. While we stood in line, a server asked if we knew what we wanted. That was a plus they would take our order while we waited and then our food would arrive more quickly once we sat down. Since it was our first time there, we asked for a menu. The menu is simple with some pasta and sandwiches. But the pizza is what we had come for. Basically your options are plain (cheese only), one topping or the special, although you can go half and half. The special includes everything except anchovies and onions by default, but you can add them, too, for no extra charge. Our server recommended a large pizza for the three of us. And we ordered half plain and half pepperoni. Once we were seated, someone came to take our drink order. We just asked for water. As a side note, though, they don’t offer refills on their soft drinks. The pizza eventually arrived. It is a very thin crust, which is something I like. The cheese was plentiful. I’m not a fan of pepperoni, but my wife and son are. They said this was the real deal, not those thin slices you find at the supermarket. They may look smaller in diameter but are definitely thicker. I actually thought two were stuck together. As for taste, it was very good. I thought it was a bit overcooked, though, for my preference. Would I return? Sure. In fact, I know our family will go here again the next time we’re in the area. I’d gladly give it another try. And I already know that the next time we eat at Conte’s, we’ll order the special.
Really good old school neighborhood place with top notch bar pie. Great service
