The owner was kind and accommodating. The food was amazing, especially the Halloumi and Chips, which was a generous portion at a great price! They also offer rooms for guests to stay in at £50 per night, all of which are clean and have en suite bathrooms. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Worcester!
Well what a find! I’m almost ashamed to say we tried somewhere else on spec but they were full so rang ahead down the road and they fit us in. A busy Sunday lunch but I cannot fault them. The staff with us (and each other were happy and gave proper, really helpful service (including the pud in a doggie bag as the carvery was so generous! , it seemed nothing was too much trouble. Then there’s the food what more could you ask, well cooked, choice of 3 meats and veg galore, to my taste done to a turn just enough bite and……sprouts! In March! I know!!! All in all, enough to make me wish I lived next door. Thank you to them all very much, you started our holiday in style.
I would say it’s the best carvery around. Food cooked to perfection with plenty of choice. A choice of three meats, including Venison and Lamb. Absolutely delicious! and well worth a visit!!
I was taken to this establishment for a thank you meal today, and my friend has always said how good the food is. I didnt want to appear rude or ungrateful to her as I was told that you got two courses for twelve pounds and that seemed a good deal but I was extremely disappointed. The starter of crayfish and prawns was alright, and a decent sized portion, nothing I couldnt have prepared at home. The carvery itself was very meagre. Choice of three meats but you can only choose two, and you get ONE SLICE of each meat. Even a Toby gives you two slices of any meat, and they offer all three choices. So that was stingey. Then you get one yorkshire most places offer two. The veg was plentiful and a good choice, dauphinoise, roasted and mash tatoes, brocolli, parsnips etc except no mash or gravy, they were due out of the kitchen and we were waiting. Ages. AGES. In the end we'd returned to our table and had to begin eating a gravyless meal and the gravy went past eventually so we had to go back to the servery to add it to our plates. Still no mash. About fifteen minutes after we'd sat down a second time, the mash was put on our table, third visit for gravy for the mash, and the meal had all but been eaten because the meat was so sparse... And crackling was a strip the size of the barmaid's eyebrow, ridiculously small. We didnt have drinks because they were expensive, seven quid for a G&T, hard pass, and there were only two waiting table staff. The best bit is we go to pay at the bar, another unreasoably long wait and the price has been hoiked from £12 to £19!!!!! AND they charged 80p for the dash of lime in my tap water!!! My friend was gobsmacked, because when she booked no mention was made of any price increase. Obviously this was my first visit, but for two slices of meat on a carvery that's a total rip off. I wint go back and now my friend (and her circle of at least six local friends who went quite regularly) wont be returning either. Even £12 would have been borderline, saved by the starter or dessert on a two course meal, but nearly £20 for the same is too high an increase on the same menu. Big mistake. Huge.
We have been here for a Sunday carvery on a number of occasions, and absolutely love it here! Yesterday there was a choice of beef, lamb and pork, or a combination of all three meats! There was a large selection of freshly cooked vegetables, including mashed and roasted potatoes, roasted onions, parsnips, green beans, carrots, cauliflower cheese, potato gratin, to name a few. Served with freshly cooked homemade yorkshire puds and stuffing, with lovely home-made gravy, and a selection of home-made sauces (cranberry, apple, mint and horseradish. A choice of 4 homemade puddings was included in the price, which makes this our favourite go-to place on a Sunday when I don't feel like cooking! The staff were polite and attentive, and we got our favourite table, which was a bonus. Well worth a visit to anyone who hasn't been, but booking is essential, as they do get busy. Thank you to Matt and his team for a fantastic meal.
