I have to qualify this review by saying that we were the only people in the restaurant at the time, but given the attention to detail by the staff, I have no reason to doubt that service would be any less good when they're busy! We thought that this was a superb meal (we did over-order a bit: a large starter between two, two main course meat dishes, three veg side dishes and two breads, so we had to walk slowly after we finished! , with the complimentary poppadoms before, the lemon sorbet palate cleanser, and the little (but nice gimmick with the hot towel afterwards, bookended the meal, and made it a modern dining experience, whilst maintaining great traditional flavours in the food. Two courses in just over an hour, and we didn't feel rushed at any point, in fact we dawdled for 15 minutes so that we were in a more fit condition to stand up! : I really liked this place, and we'll definitely be back again
I visited the Curry Centre on Saturday with a friend who had pre-booked a booth for us. We were pleasantly surprised to receive complimentary popadoms and chutneys. The restaurant was quite busy and seemed understaffed, but our waiter was helpful and friendly, checking on us regularly. The staff behind the bar were also cheerful, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The food was delicious, and we even received free lemon sorbet and a hot towel at the end of our meal. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant again!
I am writing this review while sitting in the restaurant, feeling very annoyed and disappointed with my experience. I arrived without a reservation and was asked to wait on the couch for a cancelled booking, which ended up taking a long time. There were no bookings on the tables, and if I had known this, I wouldn't have come in. I was eventually seated at table 13, which the server mentioned was unlucky because I hadn't booked. It took 45 minutes from being seated for my order to be taken. I was served only one poppadom, and if I had been asked, I would have likely ordered more. It was now 7:45pm, and I had been waiting for my starter since 6:45pm. The main course arrived at 8:10pm, with the rice in a bowl that was too hot to handle. Despite using a napkin, I still burned my fingers and the bar staff in front of me giggled and said there was no way to regulate the temperature. The curry was dry and the garlic chicken lacked sauce and flavor. The only saving grace was the off-menu Cheese Garlic naan, which was full of flavor. Additionally, I was puzzled as to why delivery drivers were using the fire escape entrance, causing a draft every time it was opened.
By far the best, there are some lovely places in Wycombe but the food, the service and the attention to detail (just wait to receive your hot towel) is spot on. Couldn't recommend this place enough. We look forward to our next visit.
