Royal Oak - Wyre Forest

My two friends and I arrived for dinner at the restaurant and found that all tables were taken for a function. The manager and staff were very helpful and quickly set up a table for us with chairs from the bar. We enjoyed delicious sirloin steaks from the Monday madness menu, which were cooked perfectly and very tasty. The attentive waitresses provided great service, improving upon past experiences mentioned in previous reviews. We will definitely return to the Royal, as we had a very pleasant visit.

I brought my plate to the Carvery counter and proceeded to get my food. However, I was disappointed to find out that the potatoes were not ready and I had to go back for them after finishing half of my meal. This was not very professional. Overall, the meal, food, and service were all average.

The experience at the restaurant was not very pleasant. When we arrived, a man at the register barely acknowledged us and seemed hesitant to find us a table. The food was delicious, but throughout the meal, one particular male employee, who turned out to be the manager, constantly looked around and appeared to be monitoring the customers closely. Despite this, most of the other staff members were very friendly.

We went to the royal oak for Sunday dinner. we arranged and asked to book a table for 3:30 to be made aware that they use a slot system for tables, and the slot is 2-4, but we could come at 3. we were greeted by a friendly waitress at 3 o'clock. she asked her man where we sat, she pointed to a table. when we came to the table with the waitress, the manager then said rudely and abruptly that they must go to 4. Okay, this line has both upset us right away. there was no courtesy as it was said. we were aware that it was a slot system, but as she told us was totally wrong. the eating was nice, but drinks took one because and the waitress when she went to check what there was also a drink order from another customer who felt quite rude. while eating the same manager stayed waiting for us to finish what felt uncomfortable to us, although there were many other people in the restaurant. she also repeatedly hit cutlery to be extremely irritating. when the other table left, she cleared it away and during the movement plate and wipe, then she asked if our food was in order. what was annoying is, as she asked, was just a side task to clean it the table. she had an rude and hastily approach to everything, even to communicate with the personal. overall, eating was good, but their service needs improvement.

Amazing food lovely meat, lots of veg all cooked fab, 2 choices of grav, Horseradish sauce is a little strong. Amazing desserts.
