On a Friday night approaching Christmas I would have thought this place would be buzzing, as were the other restaurants that were open, rather than one other table and a group of 4 at the bar. We had a portion of duck to start which was far from crispy, with each of us having a curry dish and a vegetable dish as main. Flavours were lacking and portions were not generous; not great value for money either. Drinks list did not offer too much and what it did was overpriced. Service was cheerful and efficient and the decor of the place, whilst being nothing to find offensive, did nothing to help the almost sterile atmosphere. I'm not sure that a prime position in Javea old town will guarantee success, in fact I'm not sure that it is a good location for an Asian restaurant, even in the busy summer. I will not return, there are places in Javea with more atmosphere serving better Asian food.
We arrived for a late lunch (by English standards- not Spanish) and were told to be quick as the chef was going home in 5 minutes. I think the chef did. Because as soon as we'd finished our starters the mains were magically ready. I think the food was all cooked at the same time... and no attempt was made to keep the food hot...or the plates. So although we could tell the food was good, it was spoiled by being tepid. Hence.. disappointing.
Although we only partook of the menu del dia lunch here, it was our first visit to a recently opened restaurant, located down the steps beyond the cathedral. Our starters of dim sum and Vietnamese spring rolls were excellent,as were both main courses ; one of chicken and M had ‘grandmother’s mince curry. Too full after to have more than one ice cream, Asian style, to finish. The evening menu looks good, their specialty being Peking Duck.
The waiter was knowledgeable. tempura was a tonne of thorn and paprika (chapest) and two aubergin pieces. pad thai was really sweet and sour with four small pieces tofu. don't think we'd come back.
It is the heaven on earth! the restaurant is located in a beautiful street. the owner is generous and passionate and eating is incredible! Vegan options are not a problem. the personal cares. I highly recommend it. there are various tapas available, but also curry’s, sushi, meat and so on. there is something for all
