The food is fresh and good (not mind blowing though) . We tried the seasonal buffet, and were served with different varieties of prawns, fish and chicken. The dimsums were really really good, though. Thai red curry was okayish. They had this set dessert consisting of pumpkin custard, fig ice cream and honey dipped noodles which was simply out of the world. Hands down, the best dessert I have had anywhere in vizag. The staff is always on their toes. Super helpful in choosing the dishes and making sure you like the food. They were also eager for a feedback to make sure the service never disappoints. I would recommend visiting the place at least once, for the rejuvenation ambience and service ( and of course that great dessert)
No one serves Oriental and Chinese cuisine as authentic as Ming Garden@Taj Gateway Hotel in Visakhapatnam. The team of Chefs prepare one of the most authentic cuisine in Chinese and Thai , including soups, starters, main course and sweet dishes. We were very tired and wanted to have a simple vegeterian course today evening after a long haul of fish and seafood throughout the entire weekend and Holi. Chef Sebastian Mondal and Chef Ashok Kumar Josh who are iconic names in TAJ prepared a Vegetable Clear souo with burnt garlic and coriander, Lotus stem with water chest nut vegetables sauté and Pan fried vegetables noddle. It was not only a homogenous preparation all through but gave us lot of zest and enlightened our taste buds by all means. If you are a non vegetarian, then lobster and prawn dishes are a must try.
GAD is an Iconic retaurant @Taj Gateway Visakhapatnam, which was originally a full range Taj Hotel has stood strong serving its guests with full range Buffet breakfast and dinner for long and even in the face of the Hud Hud storm in 2014. I have time and again visited this restaurant along with my spouse Bidisha, whose favourite Chef de Partie - Shri Ashok Kumar Josh has been iconic. This time we ordered fish grills and kebabs for with the catch of the day fish, cooked with white mustard or black mustard sauce or steam cooked with green chilli and mustatd marination served with Basmati rice. The mutton and fish kebabs are juicy and soft and is a must try. I prefer this restaurant for Ala carte over buffet and recommended this as a must visit for your epicurean delight.
I was actually regularly going to this restaurant but thought it is Ming! My reviews on Ming are actually on GAD. The naming plates are bit confusing. GAD is having good spread of Indian and continental cuisine. Even Indian food is more tuned to foreign visitors' adopt ability. During full week cycle stay at this hotel, I tried many Indian food items. Every item is really good. Their innovation on Indian grain based breakfast items are classic, like Raagi, Zonna, Baarly, etc. I'm not sure of the cost because I was consuming complementary ones.
In my visit to vizag i stayed here ...it is been a pleasing stay and good ambience except for few service falls specially with the front office ....food was not bad ...specially chicken biriyani was good ...and sea food reached my expectations ..... overall it was fine :)
