Happy Sun Restaurant - Yeppoon

Four of us went to Happy Sun Chinese restaurant. On arrival we were confused as to what to do! How to order, where to sit, or serve your self at buffet. A very friendly female staff member, advised us to go outside and use the Drive-through, as your order is cooked as you order. Chinese Drive-through, never experienced one before! The young female from in side restaurant served us, said we would have up to 15min wait. We placed order for 5 different dishes. The food was beautiful, we couldn’t fault any of the dishes nor the service.

Don't waste your money. We spent over $100 on mediocre fried and dried food. The soup was decent, but that's hard to mess up. This was in the regular dining area. They also offer an "all you can eat" buffet that looks unappetizing. There are plenty of better dining options in the Yeppoon area that are more deserving of your money.

We were extremely disappointed with our experience at the restaurant. We arrived at 7:30 and paid to dine in, but were disappointed to find that the food served was clearly leftover scraps. Despite there being four of us dining and paying, we were not informed that ordering takeout would have been a better option. We had to inquire about fresh food, and only a few dishes were brought out before being quickly taken by those getting takeout from the buffet. Although the young boy working there was friendly, our experience was not worth the price we paid.

The food at this restaurant was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. The vegetables were fresh and tasty. I would definitely consider going back for takeout or dining in at the restaurant. I look forward to enjoying another meal there.

Food here was edible, but definitely nothing special, all our three dishes were only Luke warm and the presentation poor, the young waitress had no concern and shrugged her shoulders when informed, the same waitress also was more interested in chatting to her friends than than customer service. This place most certainly needs to lift its game, would I return again, most probably not
