I attended El Portal Yerba Buena coffee beans today. Recommendation: There are people who consume Tacc-free (gluten-free) products for convenience or taste, but there are others who, for health reasons, must be extremely careful because we run life risks. I am among this last group. Ignorance of the bar (or carelessness) led to the following situation: I notify the waiter that I am celiac and that I want a cut and if he has any food for celiacs (gluten-free) to accompany, he gives me the options, I choose and at the moment of bring the order, to my surprise it accompanies the jar of the Cortado, on the plate and the spoon a cookie with gluten. My health was at risk. It is not the first time in that bar nor with the same waiter. On the other hand I regret the attention of the waiters in general and this is from the bar for not preparing them, they do not have knowledge about products and handling of dishes that should not allow cross contamination, it would be good for them to inform themselves on the subject for better care and prevention for the good of the health of the celiac customer who can attend the bar. In addition, the gluten-free logo would be missing from the display case, which indicates to celiacs that the place offers options for us. In my particular case I will not return again.
