Sapphire Chinese Takeaway - York

I was disappointed! I expected more variety and uniqueness from a restaurant that prides itself on being special. Just offering a few slices of chicken was underwhelming. Why not include char sui, or even some prawns? Any other protein would have been more welcomed.

We were staying at the ibis across the street, and after a long day in Scarborough, we decided to get some takeaway to enjoy in our pajamas. We walked over and ordered sweet Satay Skewers, vegetable spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken balls, Cantonese sweet and sour buns, and fried rice. Our order was ready in about minutes and cost much less than what we would pay at home. Everything was delicious, especially the chicken balls. Eating in our hotel room without utensils was a bit of a challenge, but we managed!

Terrible. order my food in this restaurant app and received an email to say the restaurant accepts my order and would be delivered within minutes. still not eating, so I called after my order. I was told they didn't get my order. it finally arrived in a taxi. when I opened it, the chicken was dry and cold tear cold chow my was dry and they sent sweet n acid sauce instead of curry sauce. when I complained, the man said he could bring curry sauce, but would be another min. diner was already dry and cold. I asked for a refund to say everything I could have ordered from one. I had to bind the food and go to mcdonalds. I used this restaurant a few times, but never used it again. not helpful and not interested. stay away from everyone

My order came before time and with it been new years eve that's amazing,the food was hot and best I've had I've now found my new takeaway thankyou and thankyou to the delivery man who worked tonight

Ordered a chicken curry with fried rice and a Beef in ok sauce with chips, the fried rice had a strange taste as if it had been cooked a week ago and the chicken tasted funny also my son had the beef in OK sauce...we both only ate or mouthfuls and left the rest can't explain the taste of both meals but certainly not edible, within an hour of eating we were both very ill, I didn't realise I was ordering from Sapphire as I have always used the Ruby app who were on Gillygate, York now realise Sapphire chinese have a Zero food hygiene rating!!
