The Lion Inn - York

I have called in with family again, while on a drive through some of the most scenic countryside in the UK. As usual a warm welcome and a warm fireside while having wonderful food, well prepared and presented. Great value for money as usual. Family and dog friendly.

Wonderful all round. The staff were brilliant and a credit to the place. The food was delicious, although the portions are massive and I'm a big eater. Couldn't fault anything at all though.

A lovely atmosphere in an old 16th century inn. A broad menu. The food was excellent with enormous portions; maybe a little too large! The staff were friendly and attentive. There was no music what a joy, just quiet conversation. I would happily return to the Lion.

Absolute love this place, they do the best steak pie chips ever. The staff are all absolutely lovely and can’t do enough for you and the rooms are brilliant
