This cafe is a hidden gem in central York, tucked away near some charming charity shops and right next to the Minster. I visited with my family and we ended up staying for hours because we didn't want to leave - it was that wonderful. The staff were incredibly caring, friendly, and quick. I ordered a tea and a slice of carrot cake for around £5.50, which was a great deal. The tea came in a lovely blue teapot and had a delightful flavor, while the carrot cake was freshly baked, fluffy, and moist with a hint of lemon. Plus, the portion size was massive! We stumbled upon this cafe by chance, but I would go back every day if I could.
I was thinking the exact same thing as you are thinking when I first saw this cafè “How could they use real LIQUID NITROGEN to make the ice cream?” But I was proved wrong as they made the ice cream in front of me and I can confirm they used real liquid nitrogen. They have a lot of ice cream and coffee flavours; the ice cream is delicious. I had no choice but to say have a good day when I left! 5/5
Absolutely amazing ice cream!! Made fresh, and a great range of flavors. We were impressed! Would definitely recommend!
We visited Diana's Cafe for the first time and were intrigued to see how the nitrogen ice cream was prepared. We ordered Oreo flavor and my daughter had a great time watching the process. The ice cream portion was very generous and she finished it quickly. The cafe also offers a delightful selection of cakes (which seem to be homemade by the owners) and homemade shortbread that simply melts in your mouth. Overall, Diana's Cafe is a hidden gem with delicious food, generous portions, and friendly, welcoming staff.
