I really love this place and I come at least once a month. I went the other day to purchase some buns and I had one today. I noticed someone's hair was baked into the bun. I know that they tie their hair, but I think wearing a hair net would be beneficial because I was not expecting that... either way, I do believe this bakery is delicious. It is pricey. But please, keep the goods clean. I think I may take a break from this place for a while because it was an unsettling experience
I love the selection of savory buns that this place has to offer! Some of my favorites are the following but only one is pictured below: beef curry donut (filled with Japanese beef curry deepfried to perfrction! heats up well in the toaster oven. Tastes even better if you pair it with a slice of cheese) mashed potato bun (bun filled with mashed potatoes with a slight kick their mashed potatoes have a bit of horseradish in them which I loveeee) yakisoba bun (this is definitely on the expensive side but damn, it is tasty as heck haha) chicken katsu sandwich (two halves of a chicken katsu sandwich served with mayo, pickles, and lettuce) cheese danish (this is SO good! never would have thought it but I highly recommend it)They also seem to have released a lot of new buns that I'll have to make a trip back to try!
Hojicha pudding is a new item released. It tastes good, smooth, and strong hojicha taste.Matcha and Earl grey pudding are also very good.
They used to give you a free candle and write a birthday message on a chocolate plate for free when you buy a cake for birthdays. Not anymore. They are charging you now. They haven't had any new flavour of cakes for a long time...same old same old. And they have jacked up the price by so much, much more than the other Japanese bakery. The hot food cost $15. But the portion is not nearly enough for a teenager, much less an adult. This place has become a money grab and the quality is not as good as it once was since their massive expansion. Before it has a mum pop feel and produce quality products. Now it's just like any other business. What a shame.
