We asked about it and they said we had to wait until the other food arrived. The waiter waited five minutes to forget to place our order, and that it would be a few minutes. At this point it has been 20 minutes. I asked about a certain time and they can't tell me. I asked about the apps again and he was still trying until another waitress was over. Ridiculous! Bad customer service!
We returned to Nak Won in Markham for lunch. I had fond memories of our last visit, but unfortunately, this time did not meet my expectations. Firstly, the prices have increased - the Gambatang now costs $9.99 instead of the previous $7.99. While I can understand inflation, it was a bit of a disappointment. Secondly, the service seemed rushed and the food took a while to come out. I was surprised as Korean food usually doesn't require much time to be served at other restaurants. Additionally, I was not pleased to see that the Banchan was left out on the counter, exposed to the air. This made me concerned about potential insects around. The Banchan also did not seem fresh, with the cucumbers looking dry and the Vermicelli lacking its usual texture. Overall, I found the GamJaTang to be lacking in taste compared to other Korean restaurants. Personally, I prefer the Owl over Nak Won.
My experience at Nak Won for dinner was fantastic. Despite having to wait for a table due to the popularity of the restaurant, we were seated relatively quickly. We had the option of dining in a room with a Korean BBQ or at a normal table. The staff, although busy, were efficient and attentive. The food arrived promptly and I was thoroughly impressed with the Korean cuisine - this was my first time trying Korean food in Canada and I was not disappointed. One dish that stood out to me was a pork dish with a delicious sweet sauce and fruit. The menu offered a wide variety of options and I will definitely be returning to try more. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a great dining experience.
I went out to lunch with three friends. The food was average and the service was a bit slow. The marinated pork fillet I ordered was the most delicious dish out of all four of us.
Food is decent Korean BBQ and home grown Korean food and soups. However I do not want to focus there, the service they give there is terrible, very rigid and have absolutely no sense of customer experience!!! From the start it was horrid, my sister...wanted to have just soup and not the all you can eat BBQ and our server actually asked her to move to a different table...A DIFFERENT TABLE...but since we were there as a family we opted to just buy another all you can eat so my sister doesn 't have to leave the table, then come the meal, she just slammed all our food to the table instead or serving them properly, finally when it came to the bill despite the horrid service we still opted to leave a small amount of tip, and while we were leaving our horrid server actually stopped us from leaving with her very broken English and said... BBQ hard work tip is not enough since when was tipping not enough for bad service, this restaurant is DESPICABLE and I would never recommend this place to anyone and would recommend everyone to not patronize this place lots of options in town and this should never be in your list of places to go to.
