The only reason they have a 1 star from me is because I have no choice to leave this blank before writing my review. Unfortunately, their eggrolls and egg puffs quality have decreased since I last remembered it. The eggrolls are burnt, and not consistent. The batter are not even fully cooked through for the egg puffs, and it is actually separated from the inner and outer layer - basically, you could probably make it better at home.A word of advice, don't waste your money for the burnt eggrolls they put in the middle and egg puffs here - and especially, the lady with the long hair is rude and unfriendly!
Living in NYC area, we lack the traditional Hong Kong style egg rolls. Everytime we come to Toronto, we always make sure we order the egg rolls to bring back home. They will cater your order, just make sure you call ahead of time.
If you pre-order them and you get them they are very good and worth the trip and effort. I usually get them as gift for my friends from USA and they do enjoy it.The Market Village location is bigger so I like to come to this one.
I had Tung Tung Dan Quen (Egg Rolls) over 20 years ago and surprise it was not on tripadvisor till I put this review in.The Egg Rolls are very good here , very much like Hong Kong. The difficult part was how to order it as the Egg Rolls are always sold out and you need to pre order it.The only snack you can get fresh are the egg waffles. For their main products :Egg rolls (Dan Quen) you need to pre-order a certain way or you won't get it.I had friends that traveled from New York to this locations and was unable to buy any egg rolls because they did not pre-order. Fortunately for themI pre-ordered 1 week ago and paid 1 case (12 packs) for $52 CAD and shared some with them. Please click helpful if this help you. I will show pictures of what I got as proved of my success..I got tired of reading on other sites how many people was not able to order it because of the service here and how disappointed they was. So I figured out the method to order and was successful.1) The one I order from was the Market Village location and called 905 948 1288. Market Village is open 11 am - 8pm.2) Please try to order 7-8 days ahead best to call between 2-7 pm . You need at leastone week pre order. 1st time I called in the morning they hang up on me saying they was too busy (lol)3) When you call tell them how many packs your want or if you want a case (12 packs)and date of pick up. They will then put this on their schedule and when you show up it is not on the "schedule" you won't get it. They will ask for your last name.4) Best to reconfirm your order 3-4 days before you show up. 5) A case will be placed in a carton box and have 3 layers of 4 packs of egg rolls for total of 12.6) Good luck and please click helpful.
