The restaurant is clean and inviting, with a cozy atmosphere created by its dark colors. The seafood on display looks fresh and appealing. Despite its size, the restaurant is well organized, providing space between tables for a comfortable dining experience. Our server, Allen, was helpful in guiding my son through the sushi options and even had the chef prepare some pieces with a blow torch for us to try before ordering. The sushi was delicious and we will definitely be ordering it again in the future. The menu is extensive and adds a nice variety to the neighborhood's dining options. The cleanliness of the washrooms, tables, and booths was impressive. We look forward to dining there again soon.
The food at Wow Sushi is delicious and we have been loyal customers since it opened. However, our experience today was disappointing due to poor service. The waitress was unfriendly and when we requested sauce on the side, she rudely mentioned that it would be free this time but we would have to pay for it next time. Our table was not cleared, as shown in the attached photo, and our 8 year old son was accidentally hit on the head by the waitress without an apology. Despite the amazing food, the service was lacking, resulting in a 3 star rating.
This is a new sushi joint that just opened up in Markham. They have another location downtown which I have not been to yet. We ordered the sushi small platter which was plenty of food for 2 people. It comes with chef selection of sushi and rolls (no sashimi). The fish was honestly some of the freshest I ever had. It was also very affordable, if you pay cash you save on taxes. Speed was very fast and service was very good (the waitress described each piece to us as she presented it). The location is a bit further out from downtown Markham but well worth a trip.
Before our main sushi pieces arrived, the server served us a portion of Agedashi Tofu that was on the house. This was really nice and we enjoyed eating this complimentary plate of deep fried tofu with tempura sauce. The tofu was crispy on the outside yet very soft and squishy on the inside with tempura sauce. The Louis Roll had shrimp tempura, spicy salmon, and avocado. This roll was unique in the sense that each one was placed in ‘formation’ on the plate as if each one was lining up. The spicy salmon and avocado were also piled on top of the shrimp tempura roll which made it look like a little appetizer instead of a sushi roll. It tasted pretty good. Although it was ‘spicy salmon’, it didn’t taste spicy at all. I absolutely loved the Japango Roll. This one had California roll, salmon, scallop on top, and was torched. It was also a little spicy too. This one was the best tasting one since the scallop on top of the sushi roll was fresh and quite largely portioned. A touch of torching completed the overall texture and taste of the sushi too. It was just very well put together.
