Abes Coney Island - Ypsilanti

I placed an order for takeout over the phone and was quoted a price of $7.99. However, when I arrived to pick up my order, I was charged $9.64. I questioned the discrepancy and was informed that there was a fee for to go orders that was not mentioned during the phone call. This lack of transparency made me question their motives. Despite this, the food itself was delicious, prompting me to revise my rating from 1 to 3 stars. I am disappointed by the apparent dishonesty but was pleased with the quality of the food.

The prices at this restaurant are affordable and the food is delicious. I have tried the burger and fries, which have always been tasty and fresh. They offer different patty sizes and the fries are consistently hot and crispy. The staff is friendly, especially the older woman who does most of the cooking. It's important to be patient with the older staff members, as they may move slower. However, they are all very pleasant and attentive. The restaurant has a retro feel and may not be the most modern, but it is not dirty. Some may find the old-fashioned charm appealing, while others may not be able to overlook it.

This restaurant is a popular spot for locals and has been a tradition in Ypsilanti for a long time. It's definitely not fancy or upscale, but rather a laid-back casual diner. There are high counter seats for five people and booths that can accommodate four to six. The prices are fairly reasonable and you can choose to dine in, get takeout or have your food delivered through GrubHub or Door Dash. However, I have had some issues with Door Dash in the past, as they sometimes leave out certain items from the menu. In my opinion, it can be a risky service to use no matter which restaurant you are ordering from.

Awesome food! Best breakfast in the area. He's been there for years and the place hasn't changed a bit from what I hear. Thanks for the excellent meal!

Well it was Saturday morning Called in for my usual Greek omelette had to wait a little longer than expected. Only had 1 person working The young lady was very professional, got through several orders plus the people who were in the restaurant already.. Abes coney island should be very appreciative of the young lady!!! You rock
