We enjoyed dishes such as the cola brisket burger, salmon, porterhouse steak, ribs, and chicken. Additionally, we had the breakfast buffet on two occasions, which was also delicious with a good selection of food.
Although there was an issue with my reservation, the staff were very accommodating. Eventually, we had a fantastic dinner. The dishes are highly recommended for Asian palates, with excellent starters and desserts.
We were in a hurry to catch the shuttle to the airport, so we decided to grab a quick bite at this restaurant instead of risking it at the small Ayers Rock airport. We were happy with our decision as the airport only had a small coffee shop. I ordered a Bunya sandwich, which was basically a BLT with added egg salad. The chips that came with it were served with garlic aioli and tomato ketchup, a nice touch. Another person in our group had the fish and chips and enjoyed it. While the food wasn't particularly exciting or imaginative, it was decent, albeit a bit pricey due to the limited options in the area. The service was good, the food came out quickly, and our server was friendly. Overall, not a bad choice while waiting for the shuttle from Desert Gardens Hotel to the airport.
Lunch at Bunya Bar was set to be the best meal i had at Uluru, although I skipped the much higher end places. I was generally very disappointed, although my expectations weren't all that high, given that it's national park food that had to be freighted by train to the middle of the country. I had a wagyu burger and fries. The fries were soggy. The burger tasted squishy, but that's sort of how wagyu can be. The problem was that I had to jump up and in to the bathroom before the bill was even paid because I felt extremely nauseated, and I ended up throwing up my whole lunch in the hotel lobby bathroom. Thy didn't charge me for the burger, which was obviously the right thing to do, although they probably should have comped my drink, too, since that assuredly came out with the burger. The setting is nice enough, if a bit stuffy. The staff were attentive.
We didn't have much time before the shuttle was going to take us to the airport, so we decided to grab a quick bite here rather than trying our luck at the
