Asian Pearl Chinese - Zachary

Delicious Lunch!. I've seen this restaurant for years as I passed through Zachary. I finally searched it on Urbanspoon, saw great reviews, and decided to try it. I was so pleased with the friendly, helpful staff and was impressed at their ability to remember their patrons and what dishes they enjoy. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and plated attractively. We had eggrolls and spring rolls. Both were fried to crispy perfection. The eggrolls were delicious. The spring rolls were also delicious and had a nice subtle ginger flavor. The sweet dipping sauce had a chunky texture, was mild, and a great accompaniment to both rolls. We had Roast Pork Fried Rice that can't be compared to any I've ever had before.....full of pork, veggies, fluffy rice....superb. The Sesame Chicken was chunks of chicken cooked expertly and served in a thick, sweet sauce.....I could have licked the plate! The Sweet and Sour Pork was also delicious. The pieces of pork were fried in tempura and dressed with pineapple, green pepper and large slices of white onion. The sauce was served on the side. The whole experience was very pleasant and has me already planning my next visit!!

This is one of the best in this part of the country, second only to perhaps Trey Yen's in Mandeville.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is always friendly. I highly recommend it! I've been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. Overall, I rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 stars.

I've noticed that many locals really enjoy this restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I dined there on a Sunday and ordered from the menu. The fried food had a taste that suggested the oil was old, and the vegetable side consisted of just two stalks of broccoli and a large serving of onions. Given the prices, I was quite unhappy with the meal. Even the fortune cookie was stale. I've been a local for some time due to work, but I won't be returning. Food rating: 1/5.
