When exploring Stone town you feel thirsty and in need of energy just make a stop in this wonderful coffee temple and you will not regret it. All kind of pastries and good food you could desire and they also got a beautiful panoramic terrace and rooms (good to know).
The service at this hotel is exemplary. The staff were all very personable, making me feel like they were always delighted to see me and happy to help me any way they could. The rooftop breakfast was lovely. Be aware, if you have a problem with stairs this is not the best place for you.
Wonderful place to stay in Stone Town, located central enough to reach everything you'll need to easily spice market, Slave museum, ferry terminal and the seafront, with very interesting walks whichever way you choose to go. Noreen is super helpful and, as well as a nice characterful room in a former merchant's house, you have the benefit of the coffee shop on the ground floor, selling wonderful cakes and coffee, and the rooftop seating area, with beautiful views over the city. VERY, VERY BEST of all are the fantastic, exuberant and incredibly friendly staff under the guidance of the wonderful Philipina stay here and feel like a local well, as much as it's possible to!
We came to the coffee house for the first time during a tour through stones town and have been back every day since. We tried a bunch of different pastries, cakes, and the avocado toast. Everything was delicious but our favorite was the banana pie. All the different coffee drinks were amazing as well.
Good place to stay right in the heart of Stone Town. A bit tough to get to as access for cars isn’t possible down the windy streets. This can prove difficult if you have luggage plus kids. However, food is lovely, esp breakfast and the location is super convenient. History of the building is also fascinating
