The best Italian restaurant in guadalajara. that was told to me, but I don't think so. romantic atmosphere and good taste, but when they go on sundays, the service is really slow, they can even hear the screams of the youngs of the...kitchen is true, they will find the authentic Italian cuisine, but seems as if this place is stuck in pastness and the owners forget that the market is in constant evolution. my burrata was ok, the spinach salad was boring and the lamb was raw in the inner (small piece frozen).
I ate here with two friends. the auberginen lasagna, the large plate was ordered. a must try! then the captivating alfredo, which was fantastic. we also had the pizza. good food, good service, good atmosphere.
This restaurant in next door to our hotel a pleasant surprise! A dined here on a Saturday, arriving about 7:30. Several tables of 2 4 were finishing late lunches, early dinners. We ordered from the extensive wine list, a nice chianti and the lobster appetizer... perfect for sharing. They're closer to Xtra large prawns, split lengthwise and grilled, about 6 whole in total. Thsi dish is available on Saturdays. We then choose the eggplant Parmesan. A definite winner and also the owners recipe. Entrees were a gnocci with camarone and pesto sauce. You choose the style of pasta and a choice of about 7 sauces, and accompaniments. The gnocci was excellent tender and light. The other entree was chicken parmesan, thinking it would be similar to the eggplant, but it was just ok. They had our favorite port Otima Tawny and it goes very well with the Apple/raisen tart with vanilla ice cream. The staff was attentive. Manager and owner each made a stop by the table to make sure all was good.
Da Massimo is a favorite destination for all events, family gatherings, work meetings, friend get togethers . The food is always delicious, the service is always excellent and the owners' presence give the restaurant and added bonus one feels that they are going to eat...at a friend's home. Highly recommend!
