Contribuisci feedbackWe had hiked part way down from the Gornergrat train stop no it was a very hot day. As we neared closer towards Zermatt we spotted a small restaurant perched on the hill at the side of the trail, a perfect spot to tetanus ice cold beer. Can definitely recommend the hash brown, we had it with bacon and an egg on top, simple but delicious, it comes served in its own hot skillet.Staff were very friendly and the owners were coming around checking everyone was happy. Couldn't have a more beautiful surroundings.
We went twice last Winter to Hofu's in German ( Hoefu's) during our one week skiing vacation. We have been told by friends that the classic cheese fondue was really good. We called and pre ordered it (not in the menu) for a table of six and were not disappointed. Everything was perfect, Claudia greeted us with a glas of champagne with hibiscus flowers, Urs also came out to talk to us and to receive our feedback and the most important thing: the fondue was delicious. On our last night we returned and our daughter wanted to have cheese fondue again. Although it has not been ordered in advance it was not a problem. This time we also ordered meat and again the quality of the food (meat) the taste of the dishes and the friendliness of the team is at the highest standard one can find. We will visit them for sure next time we visit Zermatt.
We ended up at Hofu's due to a recommendation from our hotel as we were looking for something special aside from other great place we visited in Zermatt this week. Bit this certainly earned the crown. From the first moment we entered Hofu's after a nice hike up the mountain in the dawn hours of the day we felt like at home. Just to call it great service would not descibe the warmth of interaction we were allowed to experience. And then the food? What a delight! Really exceptional. The fact that the wine list was a little "thin" for our taste was not important at the end of the day. And then to walk down the mountain with a little torch after a fabulous dinner was the final moment of a great evening. DON'T MISS!!
Hofu's owner used to be designer in the Salzburg and Klagenfurt opera houses. Whole restaurant is full of designes and memories from various performances. Especially worth visiting in the night. A lost cottage within white space.
We've had dinner at Hofu's on our 4th stay in Zermatt.Great food, especially fondue. Prices are quite high but definitely worthy. Service is great, ambiance is gorgeous and there is a romantic atmosphere.Kase fondue is a must here!! Absolutely delicious. With cold cuts, 2 beers and 1 coffee we spent CHF 107. And if you leave the hotel by feet the owner prepare for you a torch to light your way back. You must stop here for dinner or lunch if you stop in Zermatt.
