Ae Dumplings - Zhongshan District

They make dumplings from scratch at the front, each dumplings is NT$6, leek spout with shrimp dumpling is the only flavor they have. There’s always a long queue during lunch hour, so I visited at 4pm to avoid the crowds, staff was very polite and serving was fast. Dumplings and soup both were tasty and good quality.

Best dumplings in Taipei that I found and pretty cheap too. Just don’t expect it to be very comfortable and you may have to share a table.

Hole in the wall place and not opened on weekends (testament to the quality of food the crowds that go there). Delicious dumplings, enough said.

The place was pretty dingey and the tables weren 't very clean when we came in, the menu is 90% in Mandarin making ordering difficult for English speakers. Also, for a dumpling restaurant they have only 1 type of dumpling and it contains seafood. That 's a deal-breaker for me unfortunately. Realized this after ordering but fortunately my fiancee was able to eat them. Prices are quite cheap and the quality was decent. Surprisingly good beef noodle soup but it comes with the tendons which I don 't like. The blanched greens were good too. The dumplings were overcooked on the outside and slightly undercooked on the inside. The hot and sour soup was mediocre. The guy taking the orders was quite nice and helpful. Food was served SUPER fast.

Dumplings size and taste is great, pricing is inexpensive. Small dishes and noodles were ok, nothing special.
