I have a tomato allergy too which was no problem for her to conjure up a magical dish! Will definitely be back for more, thank you!
Great food great place. You’ll enjoy the relaxed ambiance and the vegan food. You can taste the good quality of the ingredients, only downside is that there are plenty of cats... if you don’t mind them do go there.
We visited this awesome little place a few times on this year’s trip to Zihua. It’s still so awesome and tasty. The menu seems to change daily with special features. We haven’t been for supper but I think the lunch and supper options are the same. It’s just so delicious, fresh and wonderfully friendly service. We try to go here as often as we can in our short visit to Zihua. Don’t miss this place. Vegan Delights!
I have been to Casita Ecovegana many times at this point, as I spend the winter nearby. I follow a mostly vegan diet in the US, but when I get to Mexico, it is hard to find delicious vegan options so I end up eating mostly tacos and whatever menu del dias are on offer. Thanks to Casita Ecovegana, this has changed! They serve the most delicious meals at lunchtime every day for about 60 pesos. I have tried their posole, their enchiladas and a number of other things and all were superlative. Their energy balls are totally addictive, so I rarely leave without them. Something else that impresses me about this place is how dedicated they are to supporting the wellness of the community literally from the ground up. They offer regular vegan cooking classes, yoga, and a fun hodgepodge of other workshops and classes. For example, the coop adopted and named a whale that was in the catalog by the local research and education project, the Whales of Guerrero Research Project. But instead of just naming the whale, they proceeded to have workshops about it, get the kids involved and strengthen the community connection with the ocean through their connection with this whale. It is a beautiful setting, shady, cool, and quiet with pots of herbs and vegetables growing, nice art made by local artists. A really nice place to stop in and keep in touch with and make a regular touchstone during your time in Zihuatanejo.
This is a little piece of heaven amidst Zihua. If you are Vegan or not this place is a must. It makes everything from scratch including the catsup! It uses local and super fresh foods to create little masterpieces of vegan glory! In addition to great food, the owner takes great care of not only the restaurant but the community too. I learned that the Ecovegana supports a non-profit that does lots of wonderful things for the community including yoga, recycling projects, cooking and nutrtion classes, local abandoned animals, and much more.
