La Papa Loca - ZIHUATANEJO

We discovered this last summer on our first trip to Zihuatenejo. We liked it so much we went back twice during our visit this summer. Mind you, this is a local joint and not remotely fancy. Several of the tables are a foot or two away from the adjacent parking lot. Your friends who only vacation at big resorts in Cancun might not appreciate this place. The food, however, is awesome and very reasonably priced, and the staff will patiently deal with your limited or nonexistent Spanish skills. Highly recommended.

Great food, prices and efficient, quick service. Papa Loca is on a busy corner with open air dining and sidewalk seating next to a parking area. This feels like Mexico to me. Carne al pastor on the trompo rotisserie with a pineapple on top, busy servers bustling and tables filled with locals. Nothing fancy, but it’s perfect. Delicious tacos al pastor and a great selection of salsas and other condiments. Can’t wait to come back again tomorrow night to try one of their famous loaded baked potatoes.

The food is fantastic and plentiful! The potatoes are delicious as are the taco. It’s a fun, casual atmosphere with great service! Definitely worth a visit!

So good! If you at all love potatoes this is the place to eat! They have many stuffed potatoes on their menu, but if you don't like what's in the potatoes on the menu, you can add anything else or remove and make your own potatoes. I had the Chicana potato and my husband had the shrimp one. He also had a plain baked potato as well and he said it was the best he ever had! This restaurant is always busy and mostly locals so you know it will be good. Must eat here!

Las papas están buenas, pero los tacos están deliciosos, ampliamente recomendados los de costilla, las órdenes son de 5 tacos pero son pequeños, así que si vas con hambre por lo menos te comes 3 órdenes. Las papas son grandes, aún siendo de buen apetito quizá no te la acabes.
