I was looking forward to eating Auberge French cuisine . WHAT A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I know Zionsville is small however the parking is non-existence unless you 're lucky to get a spot in the parking lot behind the establishment; which is also shared w/the inn next door. I ordered a petite salad; what I got was romaine lettuce 3 sliced radishes w/dressing. I ordered the Black Cod which took 45 mins served cold; this was the BIGGEST disappointment. After the 3rd bite I realized this fish was really greasy. There was 1 caper LOTS of brown butter. The only thing I finish eating was the spinach which was also very greasy. My guest ordered Bavette steak well done got a very rare, red, cold steak. She cut into it saw it was not well done sent it back. We waited another 25 mins when it came back the sides were cold. Before submitting this low review was trying to think of the good things we experienced I hear my grandfather telling me, 'You get 1 chance to make a 1st good impression '.
I had a lovely experience at this restaurant today. A friend and I had a nice outdoor table and enjoyed our meal tremendously. I have two staff members that I would specifically like to mention. Devinne, who I believe to be the floor manager, was quite helpful to me. I have many food allergies and intolerances, and I have to be very careful about my food orders. Even though Devinne wasn’t my server, she went out of her way to check on ingredients for me, she checked with the cook to see how a menu item could be adapted to meet my needs, and she was attentive to getting the order to me safely and without allergens. Anyone who has food allergies knows how special it is to find a helpful, conscientious person to help during a restaurant visit. I’d also like to mention our server, Megan. She was friendly and competent. Even though my friend and I stayed a long time to visit, Megan never let our water glasses go dry, and she didn’t lose patience with is for staying overlong at the table. She was refreshing and pleasant. Thank you, Devinne and Megan. You were appreciated today!: Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options were available. Dietary restrictions: Please reference the review above for more about my experience with dietary restrictions at Auberge.
We had dinner at the Auberge last night. Great food and atmosphere. Their Bastille Day Menu was delicious. Our server Bailey I hope I got her name right) did a super nice job. We will definitely be back. Keep up the good work. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
