Best bakery I know in Zürich. Always friendly and always great quality. A must every morning.
Pain au chocolat review. I like Jung bakery, and it seems they have good quality products, combined with a wide offering. So, with this premise, I was happy to try it out at Enge, as a to go breakfast. Having tried quite some pain au chocolat in Zurich, I was at first very enthusiastic about this one definitely much bigger than average. The chocolate filling was also good, but the consistency was rather dry. It seemed like I was eating some bread with chocolate, and the characteristic chewiness and buttery flavour of the pain au chocolat was not there. 3.60 is definitely too much and, as I saw from other reviews, price is definitely a pain point here. Let’s not forget that we’re talking about a to go stand. I understand the size of the pain au chocolat and location, but even when excellent bakeries (with better pain au chocolat) keep theirs below 3.00 or within max 3.50 chf, this is quite a mismatch and not appealing. I have gone further and paid somewhere else 4.50 for a cinnamon roll but the quality was top notch, and I could sit. Also a treat. So: while I don’t feel like recommending this product, it might be they have other products with a better price/quality ratio.
One of the best bakeries of Zurich . Unfortunately, a bit too expensive. But their Aprikosen-Schiffli is unbeatable.
I have to say that the croissant and the pain au chocolat are surprisingly good! The lauger sandwiches are super too!
