Lunch was good,ordered the steak signiture dish my wife the chicken signiture dish.Nice menu but maybe would have been better if the owner cooked the food himself as it is his menu from his recipe book.Restaurant also have nice views of the ocean.

The best steak in SA no doubt and that sauce was amazing. I was in food heaven! Service also great! Location is right by the sea amazing views!

Expect the unexpected! La Pentola has always been known for combining flavours in a way that one might not be used to....but then your palet ignites with the bursts of flavour.<br/ <br/ Always enjoyed going there.... Try the crayfish!<br/ <br/ We got married earlier this year and asked Shane (the owner chef) to do your wedding dinner for us and our guests. It was the best decision we could have made. Shane and his team went above and beyond. Prawn platters, duck, salads I can go on. Honestly the best food we ever had. The waiters were so helpful, even helping with our three year old nephew so his mom could eat.<br/ <br/ Thank you Shane for providing us.... and South Africa with amazing food and culinary experiences!

In summary excellent food and excellent service.we ordered the chicken liver starter which was absolutely delicious. definitely the stand out meal of the evening. mussels provençal was also a tasty starter. for mains we ordered the fresh hake maitre de hotel which was beautifully and simply prepared with basmati rice. also a honey and mustard fillet of pork, which was one of the specials, very delicious as well.this restaurant, though rather overpriced for certain main dishes, is the best option in hermanus hands down.

Great service and fantastic views. I felt the menu had some excellent options to choose from. Our starters were excellent and beautifully plated. My boyfriend had one of the steak options for his main and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. I had the duck breast from the grill and my heart sank a little when it came to the table. Very small portion and I didn’t realise it absolutely needs a sauce with it. I’m also very sure that the meat I got was not duck, but rather beef. That being said once I got my sauce the meal was delicious and beautifully tender. The veg that came with it was top class. The deserts were excellent too. I will definitely be back, but not for the grilled duck.
