There is a good variety of cold drinks available, and the service is both efficient and polite. The quiet and peaceful atmosphere of this restaurant makes it a much better choice compared to the cafes at the nearby art gallery and museum.
The restaurant is in a fantastic location within a must-visit building. However, our experience was marred by indifferent service and mediocre food. There are definitely better options for a coffee break. Additionally, it was very noisy as the staff seemed to treat the area as a meeting spot.
We were greeted for morning tea by a friendly server who gave us a basic cup of coffee and tea. The atmosphere in this cafe was very noisy, and based on our experience, it's not a place we would choose to visit again.
Behind the king edward vii set there was a coffee stable aroma caffe on the corner north terrace and kintoe avenue. So I told my friend who then visited adelaide that the main café is in the state library....(She went to the cafe later and enjoyed eating.
I ordered a soy flat white and a ham, cheese tomato toastie $11. The attendant microwaved my sandwich before popping it in the sandwich press. A few minutes later I hear the other server shout out that a toasted sandwich was ready so...I put my hand up and claimed it, only to be told by my server that it wasn't mine and give it back (turned out it was her breakfast). I apologised and tried to joke about it, but apparently it wasn't funny. Got my toastie and coffee and left. Terrible coffee (all milk), and my toastie didn't even have any ham in it! Disappointing.
