One of my favourite places to go for lunch. What is better than dining at art gallery. You can walk along the art gallery before or after meal, a bit of exercising. The chicken breast was cook to perfection. It is moist, not too dry or flaky. There's plenty of sauce which compliments the chicken breast. Carrots on the side, soft but not too mushy at the same time, just soft enough for your knife to cut through without having to use too much pressure. The other dish we had was pork with apple salad. The pork again was cook beautifully meat is moist. Apple salad and pork is quite a classic combo. They serve great coffee. Also have a good list of beverages. I'm always gonna be back for their food and recommending my friends to try them. You won't be disappointed.
We came upon this oasis when we had been for a long walk and were dying for some nice food wine there was no place in sight. All of a sudden we walked into the Art Gallery F W! We chose four smaller dishes and dessert, they ranged from very good to good, but none were really spectacular. However, the service was wonderfully nice and friendly and we had a lovely afternoon.
Having severe Coeliac disease It can be a daunting prospect eating in restaurants. Recently a friend suggested we visit the Art Gallery Food and Wine for lunch then visit the Turner exhibit. I told our very attentive waiter I was a Coeliac so he presented me with another copy of the menu. GF was highlighted on so many of the dishes, I felt I was in heaven. For once I was not restricted to one pitiful main course with the prospect of a few days illness if the chef had added gluten. I happily chose a pork spare rib entree, a chicken main and 'get this ' a Haigs chocolate mousse for desert. All were absolutely superb. Would I go back? You bet I would. That was the best and most thoughtful restaurant meal I 've had in years. Well done Art Gallery Food and Wine you have seriously considered the needs of the many sufferers of a restrictive disease and added to that, the GF meals are on the regular menu so anyone can enjoy them. 10 out of 10.
We dropped in after the Boxing Day sales. Staff were welcoming and we were offerred a lovely outdoor table an oasis of calm after the shopping frenzy. There are new owners and a name change to Art Gallery F+W. A new more diverse menu and they are open breakfast lunch and dinner everyday. The leek gruyere and asparagus tart was perfect and my friends spring salad equally as delicious. Service was slick and friendly and lots of nice SA wines btg
