Wanted somewhere intimate and this fit the bill nicely thanks to the small size of the restaurant and ambience. The scallops were amazing as was the rib eye and crab meat spaghetti. Flavours and presentation first class. The serving sizes are generous, which is somewhat lacking in some other fine dining restaurants, so much so that sharing the starter and dessert still left you feeling more than satisfied. Definitely worth trying if you're looking to celebrate a special occasion.
Had a meal before seeing a fringe show The service was very friendly and accomodating with what we could have in food and drinks The food was great especially the crocodile and prawn parcel And the drink list large enough with speciality in South australian choices Little diamond in the city Would recommend it
There's a reason that this place is empty whilst Cafes like Luigis and Flinders St Project are overflowing with happy customers.... Coffee varied every day and food was extremely average. Steer clear... Better options within 50 metres in every direction.
As locals, we have walked past this place many times and been impressed by the appearance of the restaurant, it always looked very classy and elegant, and it has been on our 'to try' list for quite a while. I failed to make New Year's Eve plans early enough, and Decant was kind enough to fit us in on short notice. The food was very good, we both had the lamb rack with paperback veg on the side. The portion sizes were good and dessert wasn't really necessary, but as it was a special evening, we decided to share one and I was very glad that we did, as it was as complex and elegant as the restaurant itself and absolutely delicious. Despite being somewhat under pressure with the number of guests, the food came out in good time and and the service was prompt, professional and very friendly. If you are looking to impress your guest, this is a good restaurant to choose. It is a small, quiet haven, very sophisticated. As it is part of the hotel, it is also open during the day for coffee and meals. The prices are a little expensive for Adelaide, not unreasonable given the luxurious setting, but would be considered mid range for interstate guests.
