Get here early on a weekday for lunch! The line up can get quite long by midday. I came here after reading the reviews of their Laksa. After 7 years living in Singapore and 2 years back home with no luck finding decent Laksa so far I thought I would give it a try. Awesome! They happily substituted the egg noodles for vermicelli for me. The broth was not too creamy - just right! And medium spicy was perfect for me as I have a good tolerance to chilli (& the heat level is Asian level - very happy to know this!!). I shall be back - with family & colleagues ☺️)
Reasonable Malaysian food. Would recommend their char kuey teow and hokkien noodles. Service however could be improved. There is one staff member who is always courteous. His service cannot be flawed however the rest of them really need to buck up.
I love places like this. Very clear signage everywhere about what's on offer, staff constantly on the move bringing dishes, removing completed plates, wiping surfaces and smiling if they catch your eye. It's very clear that this is a CASH ONLY venue, and even at 2.30pm-ish, the place was a good two-thirds full of diners. Today I ordered the lor bak and char hor fun. Whenever I see either on a menu anywhere I just have to order them. The lor bak here is tasty enough, and in Nanyang was presented with a porky/gravy sauce on the side (never had it before and it was pretty good). This dish was missing water chestnuts through the mix. It's a generous serve (two long sliced rolls). The cha hor fun was precisely what I'd hoped for. It's warm silky noodles, combined with the slippery egg gravy were SO comforting. The chicken, prawns, fish cake and greens were generously spread throughout. I'm here for travel, but now that I've found this place I know I will try to get a few more meals in before I go home. YUM!
